The Rev. Mark Byers
Priest-In-Charge
Priest-In-Charge
We are pleased to announce the call of Rev. Mark Byers. He joined us August 27, 2018 and celebrated his first service September 2, 2018.
Father Mark was born in the Philippines, where his parents lived for a couple of years while his father was an aviator in the Navy. He lived in a number of different places growing up, because of his father’s military service, and then because his dad worked overseas for several years as a civilian pilot.
After working briefly as a laborer after high school, Father Mark joined the Navy. He served about six years (1985-91) and then went to college following his discharge. He graduated from Haverford College in 1995 with a degree in History. From there, he enrolled at Yale Divinity School where he received his Master of Divinity degree in 1998. He was ordained in 2001 and has served in Connecticut, Virginia, and California.
In 2002, Father Mark and Jessi were married. They have three daughters, Fiona, Lydia, and Diana. Jessi grew up in New York City and works as a Psychiatric Social Worker at Bristol Hospital.
Away from work, he likes spending time with his family, playing rugby, exercising, listening to music, reading books, watching movies and cooking. He also enjoys watching baseball, pro football and rugby.

Wayne Bailey
Organist & Choir Master
As a child, Wayne was fascinated by the majestic sounds of the pipe organ in the choir loft of Immanuel Lutheran church in Danbury, Connecticut where his grandfather was pastor. Piano study with their organist eventually led to organ lessons, and Wayne began playing for liturgies as a substitute. He began at his first regular post as church musician while majoring in English at Western Connecticut State University. Having served parishes of several denominations in Connecticut and Florida, he recently celebrated his twenty-fifth anniversary at St. Andrew’s. In addition, he has enjoyed a long and varied career in the financial services sector.
